Hong Kong off O.7pc in January to 1.9 million TEU, Singapore up 5.8pc (HONG KONG SHIPPING GAZETTE)
FIGURES from the Hong Kong Marine Department show the port handled 1.98 million TEU in January, representing a year-on-year decline of 0.7 per cent from two million TEU in January last year.

While overall figures declined, the river trade increased 0.3 per cent to 470,000 TEU, the main Hong Kong throughput handled by Kwai Tsing container terminals dropped one per cent to 1.5 million TEU year on year.

Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority reported a 5.8 per cent increase in container movement in January, having handled 2.62 million TEU compared to 2.54 million TEU in January last year.
