Chongqing first half inbound intermodal volume increases 15.4pc

THE Chongqing metropolis in southwest China posted a 15.4 per cent increase in rail inbound container volume to 2.31 million tonnes from January to June of the year, reports Xinhua.
The city's overall rail inbound cargo rose 10.7 per cent to 22.06 million tonnes. Inbound cargo in June surged 23.4 per cent to 3.82 million tonnes.
Coal was up 15.4 per cent to 6.52 million tonnes and lumber rose 23.7 per cent to 570,000 tonnes, while steel fell 1.3 per cent to 4.44 million tonnes and petroleum declined 19 per cent to 710,000 tonnes.
