Two foreign ships collide off coast of Vung Tau coast
HCM CITY (VNS)— A South Korean container ship nearly sank after it collided with the Marshall-Island cargo vessel Eleni off the coast of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province last night. No casualties were reported.

At 11:45pm last night, the Heung A Dragon was carrying containers from Hong Kong to HCM City when it collided with the Eneli vessel departing from Phu My Port in Tan Thanh District in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The accident occurred 2.2 nautical miles off the Vung Tau coast.
The Provincial Border Guards told Viet Nam News that all 19 fishermen on the Heung A Dragon were rescued and returned to shore safely.

At 5am this morning, the ship was stranded in low water and was listing at 45 degrees.

Around 60 containers have fallen off the ship and are floating on the sea, of which 20 containers have been retrieved by local authorities.

The Vung Tau Port Authority and the Provincial Border Guards are having urgent meetings to discuss measures to collect all the remaining floating containers and save the stranded ship. — VNS
